OVERVIEW

The search for sustainable happiness drives all our endeavors, worldly as well as spiritual. Failing to recognize that happiness is an internal state of mind, we look for it in our relationships, our jobs, money, power, fame and success. Over time however, we realize what gives us happiness in this external world also contains within it the power to make us unhappy.

Conducted over a weekend, this workshop will explore how right understanding and sustained practice of principles and processes contained within our Indian scriptures will bring sustainable contentment and happiness. You will be introduced to yoga processes designed to increase your resistance to stress, elevate your level of awareness and over a period of time, help you understand yourself and your role in life better.

> Bhavana - Visualization exercises

 Principles 1 : Effectiveness

> Establishing balance as the key to effectiveness
> Identification of the resources available
> Harnessing these resources through yoga

 Principles 2 : The doctrine of Karma

> The doctrine of Karma - Law of Cause and Effect
> Pursuit of desires within the frame work of natural laws
> Legitimate goals of life - how to achieve them?

 Principles 3 : Interactive discussion/case study

> Applications of doctrine of Karma
> Karma tracker

 Principles 4 : Mind - an informal discussion

> The power of mind
> Various states of mind
> Stress and its relation to mind
> Harnessing the power of mind

Dinner

 Concentration exercises

Nature walks & meditations will form the rest of the day along with meals and rest time

 Yoga Processes (Deepening your practice)

 Review of Karma-tracker

 Principles 5: Emotions - reflections in the mind
