THE BUSINESS OF LIFE: Weekend workshop

  

OVERVIEW

Running from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, the workshop offers a rare opportunity to rejuvenate body, mind and soul as well as contemplate the subtler principles of life. It is an intensive experience designed to optimize learning and includes lectures on the Indian scriptures, yoga, and the practice of powerful internalization processes, walking meditation, silent observation and chanting.


WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES



The workshop's primary objective is to provide a practical blueprint for life, which will enable you to balance your quest for material success with your need for peace, harmony and happiness.

 

To guide you towards answering questions such as "Who am I", "What is my role in life" and "What is the secret of a successful life"

 

To introduce yoga processes designed to harness your will and purify your actions and outlook

 

To outline the "Valid goals of life" as prescribed by the ancient Indian scriptures and to show how achieve these in contemporary life

 

To introduce the doctrine of Karma, the natural laws of "cause and effect" and to show how right understanding of these laws can transform your life. In particular, we will look at practical processes for creating, sustaining and enjoying wealth.

DAY 2 - SATURDAY

 Session 1: Asanas - Yoga postures for positive health

 Session 2: Internalization processes I

> Pranayama - Breathing processes
> Sakshi Bhava - Learning to be a silent witness
> Bhavana- Visualization exercises for emotion management
> Science of Sound - How does a mantra work

 Session 3: Lecture & Discussion: Karma - The natural laws of Cause and Effect

> Understanding the workings of these laws
> Pursuit of legitimate desires within the frame work of these laws
> How to manage Karma in our lives

 Session 4: Exercise

> Application of doctrine of Karma on creation and enjoyment of wealth -
   The Karma Tracker

> Post Dinner "Gathering" - slide show

DAY 3 - SUNDAY

 Session 1: Spiritual Processes

> Deepening your practice of Yoga postures and other internalization    processes

 Session 2: Review of Karma-tracker log

 Session 3: Lecture & Discussion: The practical guide to Happiness-a blueprint

> Is sustainable happiness possible within a contemporary framework of life
> What is the philosophy of Yoga and how does it work to integrate my    mind/body energies?
> Some practical tips and discussion

 Session 4: Deep Relaxation Techniques
